British Gas

I have just experienced a similar scenario, i called british gas on tuesday to report a meter problem at 6pm, after being put on hold 3 times 50 miutes later i was told an engineer would be with us within 4 hours, he never arrived.So we rang again wednesday morning, after 40 minutes we were told someone would be with us between 12 and 4 pm, yet again no engineer. Phone call number 3, friday 9.30 straight through to an english call centre {the previous 2 were foreign} an engineer finally arrived at 1.30, left at 1.45 because of some problem, came back at 2.30 did the work and finally left at 5.30 so my question to you British Gas is this........with service like this, how can you call yourselves efficient ???

AFAIK there are no laws against it (in the US anyways). In all 50 US states its legal to make your motorcycle's headlight flash (modulate) to increase visibility. This would probably fall in the same category.

Using the comparison website EBICO does not seem to show up at all. I have just received a letter from Homes for Islington promoting EBICO and was interested to see if I could save money compared to British Gas.

Scottish Hydro Electric

I would like an answer to this email. Why on Thursday 2nd. of September 2010, early afternoon a man came to read the gas meter only I asked him to read the electric as well, he did. Two hours later another man came to read gas & electric. Today Monday the 6th. lo & behold another man to read the gas meter. Is this why prices are so high. I would like an explanation. Surely a complete waste of man power.

Don't use this service, my gas has went of 2 night sat night at 6 o'clock and I have tried 2 ring scotish power only 2 be told that the office is now closed and they can only deal with emergencies like smell of gas and there is no other contact number, what a joke so now I have 2 go till Monday with no hot water and heating with a 3 yr old son and my oldest son who is disabled. Well I am fuming and heads will roll Monday morning and I'm going 2 the papers with this hope u lose a lot of customers.

Southern Electric

Useless company keep sending me bills for gas when I'm not with them (I'm with EON) and have now started sending me bills for electric as well (I'm with N Power). I've tried to contact them by e mail, their own web sites and all to no avail. Luckily I'm not an old age pensioner who would most probably just pay the bills regardless. I think that is what this company is trying to do.

SWALEC

Whatever you do - do not accept one of those gadgets that measure electricity. I did and my Argos points account was closed and another account started. As I save up my Argos points yearly for Xmas, I would have been surprised at the end of the year to find I had no points at all. (It's usually around £60.) SWALEC admitted that my account had been switched without my knowledge or agreement but I'd advise anyone on Argos points to check and see if they are still receiving them.
